Architectural Printed Scale Models

One of the main application of additive manufacturing is architectural models creation. With the help of these 3D printers, they can create an architectural scale model of their design and they can present with their customers or clients and share their design more effectively. 3D printed miniature models also help the designer to identify the design flaws and can also help to finalize the design with the customer. By using 3D printed models the “site engineers” can have a clear view on what is happening in the entire field.

Topographical Map Models

Topographic maps are used to study the shape and features of land surfaces. Generally, topographic maps contain different “contour lines” which represent the elevations and depressions of the land surface. Analysing the land surface features only with the help of 2D images is often difficult and the often designer doesn't have a clear view on what kind of land he is designing his project. With the help of 3D printed topographic 3D models, the designers find it much easier to read the land surface features and compare different surfaces so that the designer valuable time is saved and he can survey the construction land easily.

Photogrammetry

Photogrammetry is the process of creating 3D models with textures of existing objects and spaces by shooting many overlapping photos from different angles. Photogrammetry is very helpful to capture big objects to anything about building-sized objects. You can capture oversized objects like buildings or mountains that would be impossible to scan using other methods. The Workflow is very straightforward, we take the multiple 2D images of the object from 360-degree angles and process those images photogrammetry software like Zephyr or Autodesk Recap Photo. After processing all the images in photogrammetry software will generate a point cloud, each point is corresponding to the camera information of each photo. The next step is to generate the Dense cloud points which are needed to form triangulation and complete the mech generation. After the mesh generation, we can perform different post-processing methods to achieve the final object in 3D. The mesh file generated by photogrammetry can be 3D printed, using any additive manufacturing technology.
